MAYES COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — An 88-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a crash on US 412 in Mayes County on July 3.
Emergency crews responded at approximately 7 p.m. to the accident involving two vehicles at US 412 and County Rd. 430.
Authorities reported that a vehicle traveling north on County Rd. 430 failed to yield at a stop sign, resulting in a collision with a westbound vehicle on US 412.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, Winfield Schoolcraft, was ejected during the crash and later succumbed to his injuries, according to the accident report.
The incident remains under investigation. No additional injuries were reported, and lane closures were briefly in effect for emergency response and cleanup efforts.
