CRENSHAW COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning resulted in one fatality and two injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m. at the intersection of Alabama 189 and Crenshaw County 43, about six miles southeast of Brantley. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 59-year-old Juan Lopez Martinez of Enterprise was a passenger in a van that was struck by an SUV.
Martinez was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver and the van driver sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. There is no information on lane closures or the conditions of the injured as of the latest report.
