Camden Woman Dies in Wilcox County Crash.

WILCOX COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A two-vehicle crash early this morning on Alabama Highway 28 claimed the life of a Camden woman.

Authorities identified the victim as 47-year-old Karen Scarbrough. According to Alabama State Troopers, Scarbrough was struck by a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Tiffany Burrell of Catherine around 7:02 a.m., approximately two miles north of Catherine.

Troopers reported that Scarbrough was not wearing a seat belt and was from her vehicle, ultimately succumbing to her injuries at the scene. Burrell sustained injuries and was transported to J Paul Jones Hospital for treatment.

Emergency responders are currently investigating the incident. Further details regarding the crash and any potential charges remain pending.
