Fatal Crash on Turnpike Claims Life of Driver

LANSING, KS — A collision involving a and a Civic occurred on the Turnpike early Thursday morning, resulting in the death of the Civic's driver.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the incident happened around 2:41 a.m. when the struck the rear of the Civic. The impact caused the Civic to veer off the roadway, landing in a ditch and colliding with a tree line.

Emergency responders from local agencies arrived on the scene shortly after the collision. Despite medical aid being administered, the driver of the Honda Civic, a 32-year-old male, was at the scene. The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.
