MENOMONIE, Wis. (WKOW) — A 51-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a semi-truck on County Road K in Dunn County on Friday at 4:43 p.m.
The Dunn County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting the incident. First responders discovered the motorcycle crashed with the rider lying in the roadway. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported via helicopter to Regions Hospital in Minnesota.
Authorities later confirmed the motorcyclist's death. No injuries were reported from the semi-truck driver, who was traveling northbound, while the motorcycle was heading southbound on County Road K. The crash occurred while both vehicles were negotiating a curve in the road.
Emergency response included the Boyceville Ambulance, Boyceville Fire Department, Menomonie Fire Department, Dunn County First Responders, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Life Link.
The incident remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff's Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The motorcyclist's name has not been released pending family notification.
