GREENE COUNTY, N.C. — Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 58 and Highway 123 near Hookerton.
According to Hookerton Fire and Rescue, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 4:18 p.m., with assistance from Snow Hill Rural Fire Department.
First responders found one individual trapped in a vehicle, while the second vehicle had fled the scene. Firefighters conducted a rescue, and one person was transported for medical treatment.
The Greene County Sheriff's Office later located the second vehicle. Hookerton Fire and Rescue's Squad-1 and Engine 2, along with Snow Hill's Engine 1, responded to the incident, with support from EMS 2 and Greene County EMS.
All fire units have since returned to service. Authorities have not released further details regarding the crash or the injured individual's condition.
