FAISON, N.C. —
The incident, which occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 15, involved multiple vehicles. Firefighters and emergency personnel promptly arrived on scene to stabilize the situation and provide medical aid.
A landing zone was established for medical helicopters, with Tarheel 3, Airlink 2, and EastCare 4 responding to assist with patient transport.
Authorities acknowledged the cooperation of various agencies during the emergency, as well as the patience of drivers along I-40 while the scene was managed.
