Motorcyclist Killed in Millsboro Collision

A 52-year-old man from York, Pennsylvania, died Saturday evening after his motorcycle collided with a in Millsboro, according to Delaware State Police.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the intersection of Dupont Boulevard (U.S. 113) and Centerview Drive. Authorities reported the man was traveling north on a Honda motorcycle at a high speed when he failed to stop for a red light.

At the same time, a Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 21-year-old Millsboro man, was traveling west through the intersection on a green light. The motorcycle collided with the left front side of the car, ejecting the rider.

The motorcyclist was wearing a DOT-certified helmet and was at the scene. His identity has not been released pending family notification. The driver of the Malibu was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

Dupont Boulevard was closed for over three hours as the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and police encourage anyone with information to come forward.
