JACKSON, Miss. — A fatal crash occurred at The Park at Inverness apartment complex on Ridgewood Road at 1:31 p.m. Tuesday.
According to authorities, the Jackson Fire Department was alerted to a vehicle on fire with a person inside. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, struck a fence, and clipped a parked car before becoming fully engulfed in flames.
Emergency responders found a man's body in the driver's seat, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
The Jackson Police Department and the Jackson Fire Department's Arson Unit are investigating the incident. Officials urge anyone with information to contact JPD or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
