Remains of B-52 Crash Victims, Including Iowa Native, to Be Transported to Dover Air Force Base

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — The remains of eight individuals who perished in a B-52 bomber crash on Monday in Southern California will be transported to Dover Air Force Base on Friday for preparation before family transfers.

The incident occurred during a routine test. Edwards Air Force Base reopened its airfield today for the first time since the crash.

Among the victims is Air Force Maj. Brad Hovey, a 2009 graduate of ADM High School in Adel, Iowa. He received his degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University in 2014.

Authorities indicated that preparations for the remains are ongoing, ensuring proper handover to the families.
