DES MOINES, Iowa — Authorities are seeking Nicholas Johnston, 32, in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on April 25.
Johnston is accused of running a red light and colliding with a truck driven by 77-year-old Raymond Brown. Brown succumbed to his injuries on April 30. According to the Des Moines Police Department, Johnston fled the scene on foot and reported his vehicle stolen two days later.
He faces multiple charges, including homicide by vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident causing death, and filing a false report. Investigators are asking anyone with information on Johnston's whereabouts to contact the police at 515-283-4811 or submit a tip through the DMPD mobile app.
