LUCASVILLE, Ohio — Three people died in a two-vehicle crash at 1:56 p.m. Tuesday at State Route 32 and Coal Dock Road in Union Township, Pike County.
The Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded, authorities said.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident is a two-vehicle, triple-fatal crash.
A 2012 Chevy Traverse operated by Hannah N. Howard, 30, of Beaver, was traveling north on Coal Dock Road, according to OSHP.
A 2009 Kenworth T800 tractor-trailer pulling an empty logging trailer, operated by Chance E. Rodgers, 27, of Bainbridge, was traveling west on State Route 32.
The Chevy failed to yield to continue north on Coal Dock Road and was struck by the tractor-trailer, according to OSHP.
Howard and two child passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, according to an OSHP news release.
A third minor was transported by air ambulance to Nationwide Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Rodgers was uninjured, according to OSHP.
