Six Confirmed Dead in Helicopter Crash in Brazil, Including Musician Oliver Tree
BOLSA DA VIDA, BRAZIL—On Sunday, a helicopter crash claimed the lives of six individuals, including 32-year-old singer Oliver Tree.
Authorities reported the incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. Local officials confirmed that two helicopters were involved in the crash, which resulted in a significant fire. The Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro stated, “The investigation is ongoing at the 42nd Police Precinct. A forensic examination was conducted at the scene.”
The bodies of the victims will undergo forensic examination for identification, with results pending from the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents. Lane closures and emergency response activities were in effect following the crash.
Witnesses reported seeing the helicopters collide before catching fire. Emergency medical services were on-site, but all six occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement about his estate prior to his death, Tree revealed he had arranged for his wealth to support a foundation, declining to leave any money to family. Instead, he established Dr. Oliver Tree's Art Grants for Baby Geniuses, aimed at utilizing future music royalties for charitable purposes.
