Fatal Crash in Iberia Parish Claims Life of Lake Charles Man
A Lake Charles man died in a crash on US Highway 90 in Iberia Parish on Tuesday morning, according to Louisiana State Police.
Waddell Mulmore, 58, was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra westbound on US 90 near Neco Town Road shortly before 6 a.m. when the incident occurred. At the same time, a 2020 Nissan Murano was traveling east in the left lane.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Mulmore's GMC exited the roadway to the right, overcorrected, and crossed both lanes of US 90 West. The truck entered the median, crossed into the eastbound lanes, and collided with the Nissan.
Mulmore was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Louisiana State Police Troop I is conducting the investigation. No additional information has been released regarding the driver of the Nissan or any potential injuries. Further details will follow as the investigation continues.
