NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon after colliding with a Mercedes sedan on Hermitage Avenue, according to Metro Nashville Police.
William B. Scott, 35, was traveling southbound around 4:40 p.m. on a Kawasaki ZX1 when he struck the driver's side of the Mercedes, which was crossing Hermitage Avenue from Academy Place.
Scott was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities stated there was no evidence of impairment for either driver at the scene. Witnesses indicated Scott may have been speeding prior to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
Lane closures were reported for the area as emergency responders attended the scene. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
