Serious Crash Closes Lowell Road in Concord, MA

Concord, MA—A crash involving a and a closed Lowell Road for over two hours on Wednesday morning.

At approximately 9:40 a.m., multiple 911 calls reported the incident at Lowell Road near Indian Spring Road, according to Concord Police. The roadway was shut down to through traffic between the Carlisle town line inbound and Barretts Mill Road outbound to facilitate emergency response and investigation.

Westford Road inbound was also closed, and drivers were advised to use alternate routes.

An adult male motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. His current condition is unknown. The car's driver, also an adult male, was taken to Emerson Hospital for evaluation, police said.

Lowell Road reopened to traffic shortly after noon, according to an update from authorities. Details surrounding the cause of the crash remain unclear.

The Concord Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
