Concord, MA — A serious crash involving a car and a motorcycle closed Lowell Road for over two hours Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Emergency responders received multiple 911 calls at 9:40 a.m. regarding the collision near Indian Spring Road. Concord Police confirmed that Lowell Road was shut down to through traffic from the Carlisle town line inbound to Barretts Mill Road outbound for emergency response and investigation purposes.
In addition, Westford Road inbound was also closed, prompting drivers to seek alternate routes.
The motorcyclist, an adult male, suffered serious injuries and was treated on the scene before being transported to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. The driver of the car, also an adult male, was taken to Emerson Hospital for evaluation.
Lowell Road has since reopened to traffic, according to police. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with efforts being supported by the Massachusetts State Police collision analysis and reconstruction section.
