SOUTHBOROUGH, MA — A woman faces charges following a fatal crash on Route 9 early on February 20.
According to authorities, Crystal Johnson Clementi, 37, of Leominster, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash involved two vehicles.
Abigail Throckmorton, 23, of Ashland, was arraigned on charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and driving the wrong way on a state highway, as well as a marked lanes violation and speeding.
Investigators found that Throckmorton's vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction on Route 9 prior to the collision.
The Worcester County District Attorney's Office reported that Throckmorton was released on personal recognizance with conditions prohibiting her from driving and requiring random drug and alcohol testing. She must remain in Massachusetts.
Throckmorton is scheduled to return to Westborough District Court on June 30 for a pretrial conference.
