School Bus Crash Under Investigation in Rankin County
RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. — An investigation is underway following a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus on Interstate 20, near the Pelahatchie exit, at approximately 6:00 p.m. on June 2, 2026.
Authorities reported that all lanes in both directions are currently closed as responders manage the scene. Witnesses observed a school bus in the median and an SUV off the roadway in a wooded area. Multiple ambulances and police units were dispatched to assist.
The Pelahatchie Police Department is leading the investigation and has not yet confirmed any injuries or fatalities. Additional details regarding the accident are forthcoming.
