Fatal Crash on Highway 33 in Sauk County
SAUK COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) — A fatal car crash occurred just after 6:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 33 near Man Mound Rd. in the Township of Greenfield.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, the incident involved four vehicles. Baraboo Fire and EMS responded, treating multiple patients at the scene. One driver was transported by UW-Med Flight to a Madison hospital, while three other occupants were taken by ambulance for further treatment.
Authorities reported that a sedan traveling eastbound crossed the center line, causing another vehicle to swerve to avoid it. This maneuver resulted in a collision with a different westbound vehicle, and the sedan subsequently struck yet another westbound vehicle.
The driver of the sedan, a 31-year-old man from the Portage area, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Emergency crews are on site, and the roadway may be impacted as authorities continue their investigation. Further details will be provided as they become available.
