TOMS RIVER−A Manchester man faces multiple charges following a head-on collision and subsequent flight from authorities on Monday night, May 18.
Andrew Gajewski, 30, allegedly exhibited signs of intoxication at the scene. According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, Gajewski was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, three counts of assault by auto, resisting arrest, and injuring a police dog.
The crash involved two vehicles, and injuries were reported. Authorities confirmed that the police dog was injured while pursuing Gajewski. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
Gajewski's preliminary hearing is pending; additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
