NTSB to Host Hearing on UPS Cargo Plane Crash

WASHINGTON — Federal investigators are set to examine the deadly UPS cargo plane crash during a two-day hearing beginning Tuesday.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will question representatives from UPS, Boeing, the FAA, and other relevant parties regarding maintenance practices and potential safety violations. The MD-11 aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Louisville International Airport on November 4, resulting in 15 fatalities, including all three crew members.
Preliminary findings indicate that the left engine and pylon detached from the wing before the crash. The investigation aims to determine the factors contributing to this tragic incident.
