DRAPER, Utah (KUTV) — A man in his 30s was found deceased following a paragliding incident on Friday morning.
The victim was part of a group that launched from the Orson Smith Trailhead, eventually moving to Bureau of Land Management land for further launches. Authorities reported that wind gusts likely caused the parachute to lose lift, leading to the fatal incident.
Emergency responders, including the Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter crew, assisted in the recovery of the body. Police were notified at 9:19 a.m. and confirmed the man's identity but are withholding his name until next of kin are notified.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
