Man charged with DUI after vehicle fire ignites following crash, police report.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A 49-year-old man faces DUI charges following a crash in Ephrata Township on April 15.

The incident occurred at 12:13 a.m. in the 800 block of East Main Street. Christopher Ulrich, driving a Wrangler, struck a crossing sign and crossed the center median. His vehicle subsequently caught fire.

Authorities reported that Ulrich did not sustain injuries but showed signs of impairment. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol concentration was .168%, more than twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania.

Ulrich has been charged with two misdemeanor DUI offenses and cited for three traffic violations. He is awaiting a preliminary arraignment, according to online court documents.
