CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A tractor trailer crash is affecting traffic on northbound Route 29, following a cargo spill.

The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. near Wards Road and English Tavern Road in Campbell County. According to Virginia State Police, one tractor trailer swerved to avoid another truck, resulting in a collision and spilling its cargo across the highway.

Witnesses reported the spilled load included numerous bottles, predominantly White Claw. “It seemed like traffic was stopped, and he tried to brake… he tried to miss the truck but did make contact,” said Trooper Austin Tosh.

Trooper Tosh noted that the situation is complicated due to the diverse cargo on the involved trucks, which can range from beverages to auto parts. Fortunately, authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes as cleanup efforts continue. The investigation remains ongoing.
