Three Killed in Stratford Crash on Merritt Parkway Early Sunday Morning

STRATFORD, CT — Three people died in a crash on the Merritt Parkway (Route 15 South) at approximately 4:50 a.m. on Sunday.

According to State Police, a struck the rear of a Civic, which then collided with a 200. The Civic subsequently caught fire.

The victims in the Civic were identified as 29-year-old Maria Vasquez Chacon and 21-year-old Joselyn Vasquez Chacon, both from Trenton, New Jersey. The identity of the third victim remains unconfirmed.

The driver reported no injuries, while the driver fled the scene, authorities said.
