70-Year-Old Woman Dies in Ross County Crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A 70-year-old woman died in a crash in Ross County on Monday afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided at the intersection of US 23 and DeBord Road in Huntington Township just before 3:35 p.m. A 2013 Ford F-350, driven by a 30-year-old woman from Chesapeake, Ohio, was traveling southwest on US 23. Meanwhile, Carol Cunningham, 70, of Chillicothe, was attempting to cross the southbound lane of US 23 to head north when her vehicle failed to yield and entered the path of the F-350.

Cunningham was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center, where she was . The driver of the F-350, along with two passengers, sustained minor injuries and were also taken to Adena Regional Medical Center.

Traffic on US 23 was reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately two hours during the on-scene investigation. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
