Man Hospitalized After Overnight Shooting and Crash into Building in Providence
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A man was hospitalized in stable condition following a shooting and subsequent crash into a building early Saturday morning.
According to the Providence Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:41 a.m. on Elmwood Avenue. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area and discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a nearby commercial building.
Authorities said the driver, a 29-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. The shooting reportedly preceded the crash, but details on any suspects or the circumstances remain unclear.
