Driver Killed in Turner Car Accident.

TURNER, Maine — A motorist died and another was following a two-vehicle crash on Route 219 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Emergency responders from the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office and Turner Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene shortly after the accident was reported. One driver was at the scene, while the other was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles involved in the crash were total losses, according to authorities. A section of Route 219, between Hammond Road and North River Road, was closed for the investigation.

The Maine State Police have taken charge of the crash reconstruction. Further details are pending family notification, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
