EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah (KUTV) — A 19-year-old man survived a rollover crash on an icy road Friday morning.
Joseph Lentz was driving northbound on Mountain View Corridor at approximately 6 a.m. when he encountered a patch of black ice and lost control of his vehicle. The truck rolled down a hillside, but Lentz only sustained minor injuries.
Authorities confirmed Lentz's truck hit a concrete barrier, resulting in a blown tire. Despite the crash, he was able to exit the vehicle without major physical harm.
“I felt like I was going to be okay or if I was alive; I wasn't sure,” Lentz said. He described the moment leading up to the crash, stating, “I had hit a really thick ice patch that I didn't see coming until it was too late.”
First responders evaluated Lentz at the scene, but he declined medical transport to a hospital. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and no additional injuries were reported.
Officials are urging drivers to remain vigilant for icy conditions on the roads.
