Tyler Schaub Killed, Samantha Hill Injured in Torrington Accident on U.S. 85 in Wyoming

Torrington, Wyoming – One person died following a head-on traffic collision that took place on Saturday morning in Torrington, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported just after 7:37 a.m. March 6, on U.S. 85 at milepost 87.8.

According to the report, Tyler Schaub, 19, of Torrington, was driving northbound on U.S. 85 when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic.

Schaub’s vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle driven by 18-year-old Samantha Hill of Torrington.

The Highway Patrol said Schaub was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Schaub was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Hill was wearing a seatbelt and sustained life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters extricated Hill from her vehicle, after which she was flown to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Authorities believe Schaub was fatigued and it may have played a role in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
