A head-on collision on Route 3 in Columbia, New Hampshire, claimed the life of one driver and left a family of five hospitalized on Friday night.
The crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m. when a Chevrolet Camaro, traveling north, crossed the center line and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado, according to New Hampshire State Police. The impact resulted in significant vehicle damage.
The Silverado was carrying two adults and three children. All five occupants were transported to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, with two sustaining non-life-threatening injuries and three suffering life-threatening injuries. They were subsequently transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for further treatment.
The driver of the Camaro, identified as 25-year-old Courtney Diamond of Pelham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Route 3 was closed for approximately 3.5 hours as officials conducted an on-scene investigation.
