MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani remains hospitalized following a serious car crash on Interstate 93 northbound in Manchester on Saturday night.
The accident occurred just before 10 p.m. while Giuliani was a passenger in a Ford Bronco that was struck from behind by a Honda HRV, according to authorities. The crash took place near an ongoing investigation of a reported domestic violence incident.
Giuliani had been flagged down by a woman claiming to be a victim of the domestic violence situation. The driver of the Honda, a 19-year-old from Concord, was involved in the collision.
According to Michael Ragusa, Giuliani's head of security, Giuliani called police and remained with the woman until help arrived. He was transported to a local hospital where he was reported to have suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured thoracic vertebra.
Both the Honda driver and Giuliani's driver sustained injuries but are expected to recover. No charges have been filed as the crash remains under investigation.
