MEAD, Colo. — A memorial ride honoring 34-year-old Skylar Fox, who died in a rollover crash on March 9, will take place Saturday.
Skylar Fox was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle collided with a work van near Longmont. The memorial ride will commence at Rocky Mountain Saloon in Mead at 11:30 a.m., concluding in Milliken with an auction at Burnout Bar.
“Everyone is welcome that wants to come out and support Skylar's memory,” said Brittany Culp, organizer of the Ride for Sky.
The event will include motorcycles, trucks, cars, and performance vehicles to celebrate Fox, who was passionate about motorsports and mechanical work. All proceeds from the auction will benefit his wife, Catlin Fox, and their daughter, Harlyn. A GoFundMe established after the accident has raised over $45,200.
According to Catlin, the investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Colorado State Patrol's Vehicular Crimes Unit is leading the inquiry. Preliminary reports indicated the work van moved from the left to the right lane when Fox's red Ford F350 attempted to pass on the right, resulting in a collision. The Ford then spun, overturned, and struck a concrete barrier. The driver of the work van reported no injuries.
CSP is still seeking witnesses and dash camera footage from the incident. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
