BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WTVF) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday evening in Simpson County, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers responded to the incident just before 6 p.m. in the 1200 block of Witt Road.
Authorities said a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by 47-year-old Jared Jones of Salem, Indiana, was traveling south when it veered off the roadway and onto the right shoulder.
Both Jones and a passenger were ejected from the motorcycle; Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. Their condition has not been disclosed.
The investigation is ongoing, led by Trooper Grant Roberson, with support from the Simpson County Coroner's Office and Simpson County EMS.
