Couple Killed in Pomona Car Crash After Police Pursuit
POMONA, CA—Two individuals were killed in a car crash following a police pursuit on Wednesday night, according to the Pomona Police Department.
Jennifer Loera-Zarco, 25, and her boyfriend, Marc Trejo Saldivar, 26, were killed just days before their baby boy's expected arrival on April 20. Authorities confirmed both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident began around 9:30 p.m. when officers responded to a domestic violence call near East 10th and South Elm streets. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Marshall Judson, allegedly drove a truck into a parked patrol vehicle before fleeing the scene. Officers pursued Judson for approximately two miles before he crashed into the couple's vehicle at Garey Avenue and County Road.
Judson has been charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence, vehicular manslaughter, and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
Family members said the couple had been preparing for their baby's arrival and had recently celebrated Jennifer's birthday. They are currently raising funds to cover burial costs.
This tragic accident has left family and friends distraught. “Not only two lives were lost last night, it was three,” said Amber Torres, Jennifer's sister. “The baby is a person and was its own being.”
