Grapevine, TX – A serious crash occurred early Friday morning on Grapevine Mills Boulevard, just before 2 a.m. at the intersection bridge over Grapevine Mills Parkway.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash, resulting in substantial damage and debris scattered across the overpass. A power pole was snapped, and traffic lights in the area are out. Authorities reported that a black Ford Focus collided with a silver Hyundai Elantra and a white Ford Taurus.
Emergency responders transported the driver and three passengers of the Ford Focus to the hospital with serious injuries, one reported as potentially life-threatening. The driver of the Hyundai Elantra also sustained serious injuries, while the Ford Taurus driver was unharmed.
Police suspect that alcohol may be a contributing factor in the collision. Investigators from the Grapevine, Euless, and Coppell Police Departments are on-site using specialized technology to map the scene and determine the cause of the incident.
As the investigation continues, the roadway remains closed for repairs to the damaged power pole and traffic control box. Authorities advise drivers to seek alternate routes during the morning commute.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to officials.
