Selma Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on Alabama 14

A Selma man died following a single-vehicle accident on Alabama 14 on December 4. The crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m. near the 103-mile marker, approximately ten miles northwest of Selma in Perry County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 72-year-old Everton Kirkland was critically injured when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a fence, overturned, and collided with a tree.
Kirkland was transported to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities report that the cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
