St. Cloud, MN – A 15-year-old boy injured in a car crash on November 4 has died, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.
The collision occurred at 7:31 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 75 and Traverse Road. Authorities reported that a southbound passenger vehicle struck a northbound vehicle during a turn; both vehicles had green lights at the time of the incident.
A 22-year-old man in the turning vehicle sustained minor injuries, while a 19-year-old woman in the backseat suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was trapped in the car. The 15-year-old front passenger was found unconscious and not breathing.
In the southbound vehicle, the 20-year-old driver sustained only minor injuries. The teenager was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries but succumbed to his injuries nine days later; his identity has not been released.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic, and the investigation into the crash remains active, according to police.
