West Warwick Woman Charged with DUI Following

West Warwick, R.I. — A Warwick woman faces a DUI charge after a head-on crash on Providence Street early Friday morning.

According to police, Ashley Moran, 28, was driving eastbound when she crossed the center line and collided with Abou Ngom's Honda CR-V. Ngom was transported to Rhode Island Hospital after reportedly being in and out of consciousness at the scene.

Emergency responders from the West Warwick Fire Department freed two passengers trapped in Moran's vehicle. All occupants of her Volvo were also taken to Rhode Island Hospital, experiencing various degrees of pain.

Witnesses stated that Moran had consumed three to four alcoholic beverages prior to the incident. Police found multiple containers of alcohol in her vehicle and noted an odor of alcohol when speaking with her.

Moran is charged with driving under the influence, first offense. The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
