JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (WPEC) — Professional golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a two-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m., the Jupiter Island Police Department responded to reports of a rollover accident near 281 South Beach Road. Authorities discovered a pickup truck towing a pressure cleaner trailer and a Land Rover, operated by Woods, flipped onto its driver's side.
According to Sheriff John Budenseik, the Land Rover made contact with the trailer as the truck slowed to turn into a driveway. Woods was able to exit the vehicle through the passenger door.
DUI investigators conducted roadside tests, leading to Woods' arrest and transport to Martin County Jail, officials stated. A breathalyzer test returned negative, but Woods reportedly refused a subsequent urine test.
Woods faces charges of DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. No injuries resulted from the crash.
Woods was seen departing Martin County Jail around 11 p.m. Witnesses have noted a pattern of previous vehicle incidents involving Woods, including a serious rollover crash in February 2021 that resulted in significant leg injuries but was ruled an accident.
