WHITE CITY, Ore. — Two suspects were arrested following a carjacking that began in Portland and ended in White City on February 20.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO), the incident involved a vehicle theft at gunpoint. A Flock License Plate Reader camera identified the stolen vehicle at approximately 8:46 a.m., prompting a pursuit by JCSO deputies.
The chase concluded when the suspect vehicle crashed into two other cars on Avenue G near Highway 62. Three individuals fled the scene but were quickly apprehended by law enforcement.
During the pursuit, a JCSO patrol car collided with an Eagle Point School District bus, although no injuries were reported. The Oregon State Police (OSP) is investigating the crash.
Jhaywon Damon Brant, 21, of Beaverton, faces multiple charges, including Attempting to Elude and Reckless Driving. A juvenile suspect was also detained due to a Felony Parole Warrant.
