Kauai, Hawaii (Island News) – Three people died Thursday afternoon when a tour helicopter crashed near Kalalau Beach.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on March 26, involving a helicopter owned by Airborne Aviation. Two additional passengers sustained injuries and were transported to Wilcox Medical Center for treatment.
Kauai County officials are assessing area closures, with Mayor Derek Kawakami indicating that the site may be blocked off pending further investigation.
Emergency response included the Kauai Fire Department, Kauai Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Coast Guard, American Medical Response, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
