Fatal Crash in Grant County Leaves Three Dead and One Injured.

BUREN, Ind. (WISH) — Three people died and one was injured in a crash Monday afternoon in Grant County.

According to the Indiana State Police, the incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. on County Road 600 South near County Road 1150 East. A 2002 Malibu, driven by 23-year-old Alexander McGuin of Gas City, was traveling eastbound when it veered off the road and struck a tree, coming to a stop.

Three passengers in the vehicle were identified as 21-year-old James Clark Jr. of Dunkirk, 19-year-old Gracelynn Daniels of New Castle, and 22-year-old Michael Reading of Hartford City. Clark Jr., Daniels, and McGuin were at the scene. Reading was to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said alcohol, narcotics, or both, in addition to , may have contributed to the crash. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
