MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) – A man was arrested following a fatal hit-and-run incident on Commercial Avenue on Saturday evening.
The crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. near Mesta Lane, where a pedestrian was struck while crossing the roadway. Authorities reported that the driver initially stopped to check on the victim but subsequently left the scene.
Officers, who were nearby at the time, apprehended the driver shortly after the collision on Commercial Avenue. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Antwon D. Amos from Sun Prairie, faces charges of hit-and-run involving death, operating after suspension, and first-offense OWI.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, according to police. An investigation is ongoing.
