Farmington Police Cadet Involved in Serious Crash; Woman Injured
FARMINGTON, MN — A crash involving a Farmington police squad car on Highway 3 left a 72-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries on Monday at 5:35 p.m.
According to the State Patrol, a 22-year-old male cadet was operating the squad car southbound with lights and sirens activated when it collided with a Toyota Corolla at the Elm Street intersection. The Corolla was reportedly driven by the elderly woman, who had just entered the intersection.
Emergency responders transported the woman to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The police cadet sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Authorities are investigating the incident. The Farmington Police Department has been contacted for further details.
