Man charged with crashing vehicle into business and stabbing victim, held on $750,000 bail.

A man crashed his vehicle into a Dollar Tree and stabbed a woman in a domestic dispute on Monday morning.

Authorities reported that Shawn Handley, 45, crashed his vehicle into the business on Craig Road near Decatur Boulevard at approximately 7:30 a.m. before attacking the woman, the mother of his three children.

According to court documents, Handley had sent a text message prior to the incident stating his intention to crash into the store. Witnesses reported that he stabbed the victim multiple times after the collision.

A gun was discharged during the incident by a nearby individual who shot at Handley, authorities confirmed.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to the scene, and the woman was transported to a local hospital. The extent of her injuries has not been disclosed.

Handley faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and burglary. He has a prior criminal history with five felonies and gross misdemeanors from 1998 to 2006.

During the hearing, the defense sought bail of $30,000, citing Handley's community ties and stable income from a commercial cleaning business. However, Judge Suzan Baucum set bail at $750,000, emphasizing concerns for public safety due to the nature of the allegations.

Handley is scheduled to appear in court again on March 26.
