TOWN OF UNION, Wis. — A motorcycle accident involving a skid-steer occurred Wednesday morning, sending a 71-year-old man from Brooklyn to the hospital. The Rock County Sheriff's Office reported the incident took place around 8:08 a.m. near 9238 N. Tupper Rd.
According to officials, the motorcyclist was heading north when his Harley Davidson crossed into the southbound lane. Meanwhile, a 56-year-old man from Beloit was operating a Bobcat skid-steer on the roadway and was making a U-turn when the motorcycle struck the bucket of the skid-steer.
The impact threw the motorcyclist off the bike, and he ended up in the ditch on the west side of the road, alongside his motorcycle. Med Flight was called to the scene and transported him to a hospital to treat injuries sustained in the collision.
The skid-steer operator remained unharmed in the incident. According to the sheriff's office, the motorcyclist's condition is now stable.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
