Gem County, Idaho (CBS2) – A fatal single-vehicle crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police following an incident Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred at 8:00 p.m. on Montour Road near State Highway 52, east of Emmett. Authorities reported that a 2004 Ford Excursion was traveling northbound when it overcorrected while navigating a curve, slid off the roadway, and rolled over, subsequently catching fire.
One occupant, a 45-year-old man from Great Falls, Montana, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second occupant, a 42-year-old man from Emmett, was airlifted to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
Idaho State Police continue to investigate the incident. No additional details about lane closures or vehicle towing have been provided at this time.
