MEADE COUNTY, S.D. — A 44-year-old man died Wednesday morning in a motorcycle accident near Black Hawk, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at 7:08 a.m. on August 26, on Erickson Ranch Road near the Escape Lane intersection, approximately one mile northwest of Black Hawk.
Francis Michael Bierman, of Summerset, was riding a 2010 Triumph motorcycle westbound when he lost control after a curve, left the roadway, and was separated from the vehicle. Bierman was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but sustained fatal injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Further information is currently not available.
